General]
Pretty small type here! Just wanted to discuss KnightSong and our upcoming concerts, the availability of our music to the general public, and how much it means to me to sing with and direct this group.
First, our concerts:
Saturday, March 24th at 7:00 p.m. - a belated St. Patrick's Day coffeehouse concert at Sandy Springs Christian Church (at the corner of Johnson Ferry and Abernathy Roads in Sandy Springs). It's in Dunlap Halll in the lower level of the church, and the acoustics there are great! There is a small admission fee and of course, coffee and refreshments available. There will also be an Irish fiddler and a short skit.
Saturday, June 9th at 7:00 p.m. - this is our dedicated spring concert. We will have a mixture of music of the Renaissance and more contemporary music arranged in Renaissance style. Concerts are free and we provide refreshments too! Also at Dunlap Hall, Sandy Springs Christian Church, corner of Johnsons Ferry and Abernathy Roads in Sandy Springs. We are not affiliated with the church, but they are kind enough to allow us to rehearse there, and the acoustics in the hall are amazing.
Second, the availability of our music:
We have two CDs!! One is "A Renaissance Christmas," and the other, which was just released in 2006, is called "The Singing." Both CDs are available for sale at www.cdbaby.com (a site for indie music), and you can hear clips of most of the songs there. Our own web site (www.knightsong.com) also has some clips. Finally, our myspace 'band' page (www.myspace.com/madrigalist) plays 4 of our songs all the way through, and comments on the cdbaby page and the myspace page would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
Finally, what the group means to me:
We have been careful as we added members to make sure it is not only good for the group musically, but also on a personality basis. We are all friends, and love spending time together. Sometimes we spend more time than we should "catching up" and cutting up at our weekly rehearsals, but the music is what we are there for, and the fact that we have so much fun creating it is what makes KnightSong so special!!
We all have "day jobs," families, bills, stress - but once we open our mouths and sing together, the stress melts away, and all is right with the world...at least temporarily.
I am the director of the group, and sing alto. I love all things Renaissance, and have passed this along to my family. My daughter was married at a Renaissance wedding in 2005 and it was beautiful! We did all the planning ourselves so it was very personalized and "authentic," including the food! (Until the DJ played, anyway).
Glad to have found this site - we hope to make lots of new friends here!

This just might be our style. i'll have to go to Jessi's page and thank her for finding this.
